Previous 2026 Minor Releases
Below are the minor improvements made in 2026. You can find the other previous updates included under each quarterly release.
Q2 2026
July 23, 2026
App and Intranet Improvements
- In News, comments now use a new rich text editor. This change is part of ongoing modernization efforts and lays the foundation for future improvements, while keeping the editing experience familiar.
- In Third-Party Connections:
- The user interface in the Studio has been improved.
- For Microsoft 365, only custom apps can now be configured. Staffbase is deprecating the default app used to configure the connection and will retire it on May 15, 2028. If you are currently using the default app, Staffbase recommends migrating to a custom app before the retirement date.
- In the Navigator configuration settings, administrators can now define pages to include or exclude page content.
- In Navigator, users can now access their previous conversation list by clicking on the three-line menu.
- The Edit Menu page has been redesigned with a more intuitive header, placing the title and a new search bar on the left and action buttons on the right for quicker access. You can now:
- Use the new search bar to locate menu items. Matching items are highlighted, nested items expand automatically, and the editor scrolls to the selected result.
- Receive a warning when leaving the Edit menu page without saving, helping prevent accidental data loss.
- Managing editors can now edit video subtitles for any video they have access to, regardless of how the video is shared. Previously, only the original uploader and administrators could edit video subtitles. This change ensures that managing editors can update subtitles whether the video is shared through a collection or accessed directly.
- In the Content Designer, you can now:
- Preserve the original formatting when copying and pasting content from other tools into the Designer.
- Automatically add 20 px spacing between paragraphs in the Text block when pressing Enter or Return. Use Shift+Enter for a soft line break within the same paragraph. Staffbase recommends reviewing existing page content and manually adjusting the spacing if required.
- Keep the columns side-by-side in Container layout settings. This is useful for narrow devices, such as mobile, instead of stacking column content.
- Set a color for the Divider block from the global brand colors.
- Customize the Group Subscription block by changing the background and text color directly in the block settings. By default, the block uses the main brand color for both.
- Create Pages in your personal content language by default, aligning with the default language behavior for News and plugins. Previously, Pages used the app's default content language.
- In the Pages Overview, you can now filter pages by editor type: Classic Editor or Content Designer.
App and Intranet Bug Fixes
- In some cases, media from a deleted page or deleted post continued to appear in search and Navigator results even though the content was not accessible. This has been fixed.
- In Journeys, Journey contributors were not able to delete journey steps. This has been fixed.
Staffbase Email Improvements
- Administrators can now view bounced recipients directly within each sent email, making it easier to verify email delivery and troubleshoot failed sends without searching through a global bounce list.
- Email statistics filters now support multi-select for more diverse segmentation in reporting.
- Editors can now export email drafts as PDF files, in addition to HTML.
- If you forget to assign an email to a campaign before it's sent, you can now edit this setting from the sent email's details page. Additionally, you can change the assignment to a different campaign. This will automatically update the campaign analytics.
- In Email analytics, emails without links are excluded from the aggregate of click calculations.

App and Intranet Improvements
- In user management in the Studio, you can now configure specific users or user groups to get an email notification in the case an integration sync fails, such as Workday and Entra ID. This ensures that responsible users are promptly alerted.
- In the Navigator configuration settings, administrators can now:
- Define news channel settings to include or exclude news sources and specify the time frame for news content.
- See a visibility badge next to the Navigator title indicating the current visibility settings and if the Navigator is available to users.
- In the Content Designer for Pages, you can now:
- Display news in a full-width page section with the News Section block.
- Display the image gallery in the carousel format.
- Use the Navigation block to display a branch of your platform’s menu directly on a page.
- Copy a ready-made anchor link for any section or container, and paste it into quick links, buttons, or other content. Users will be taken directly to that area on a page. Available for the Intranet only.
Mobile App Improvements
- In Content Designer for Pages, the News block in the carousel layout now has horizontal scrolling.
Mobile App Bugfixes
- In Chat, opening an image in fullscreen occasionally left the app unresponsive. This has been fixed.
Staffbase Email Improvements
- Customers who are using custom profile fields synced from their HR tool can now activate them as filters for individual email statistics and aggregated email analytics.
- The Sending Domains and Sender Addresses pages now support search and alphabetical filtering.
- The CSV export of a sent email now includes the device type for each open and click event, as well as the read time for each open event.
- Open rate calculations for sent emails now account for actual delivery, excluding bounced email addresses from the delivery count. This provides a more accurate open rate and is reflected in the email funnel on the sent email statistics page.
- While sending test emails, users can now select a specific recipient from the target audience to preview their personalized version of the email, including dynamic block rendering and single-use personalized tags. Contact your CSM or Staffbase Support to activate this feature.
Staffbase Email Bug Fixes
- In some cases, scheduled emails did not maintain the group segmentation via user groups correctly. This has been fixed.

- Change the color of the background, text, and icon based on the global branding.
- Add a custom icon as an image in addition to the default icons.
App & Intranet Bug Fixes
- In rare cases, saving changes to video subtitles returned an error and the updates were not saved. This has been fixed.
- In News, when sharing a post Facebook or X, the social media post preview did not display the news post teaser image. This has been fixed.
- In the Public Area, content within the Content Designer for Pages was not displayed. This has been fixed.
Mobile App Bugfixes
- In the user profile, it was not possible to save changes. This has been fixed.
June 11, 2026
App and Intranet Improvements
- In Staffbase Live, event creators now see a notification when the event audience exceeds 1,000 viewers, indicating that the chat functionality is deactivated for the live stream.
- In the Content Designer, videos with subtitles that need review now show a banner with a direct link to edit the subtitles. The banner disappears once the subtitles are marked as reviewed.
Staffbase Email Improvements
- Email drafts are now saved automatically during editing, capturing changes every 10 seconds. The last save is confirmed by a green status indicator showing the timestamp.
- The test email subject line prefix has been changed so that email inboxes with conversation views no longer group the test email with the actual email in a conversation view.
- The new SharePoint integration allows email creators to browse and drag SharePoint News articles directly into the design of their draft email.
- In email statistics, line graphs now start at send time by default, making it possible to view engagement in the 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, and 3 months following a send.
- In the email designer, users can now skip the upload process for images and drag and drop an image directly into an image block in the email body. The previous upload process remains available.
Staffbase Email Bug Fixes
- When bullet points with hyperlinks were created in the email designer, the color of the bullet point changed with the text color assigned and vice versa. This has been fixed. It is now possible to change the colors of the bullet points separately from the rest of the row’s text color or hyperlink color.
May 28, 2026
App and Intranet Improvements
- From a group, administrators and group administrators can now filter members by user status, such as Registered, Pending, Deactivated, and Contact. This option is not available in Space Groups.
- In the Content Designer for Pages, you can now find:
- Added support for Shift+Enter inside list items to create a new paragraph within the same list item instead of creating a new item. The default Enter behavior remains unchanged and continues to create a new list item. Existing rendering for multi-paragraph list items remains unaffected.
- Default text block support for table cells. Newly created table cells are now pre-populated with a text block by default. Users can still replace the default block with other block types (such as images or videos), delete it, or add additional blocks. Existing table behavior and keyboard interactions remain unchanged.
- Removed filter option from the flyout for adding Section and Container background images, since only image uploads are supported.
App and Intranet Bug Fixes
- Copying text from the editor could paste a JSON structure instead of plain text in external applications. This has been fixed. Text is now copied as clean, plain text when pasted outside the editor.
Staffbase Email Improvements
- When an admin removes a contact from the bounce management list, the contact is now automatically removed from the AWS suppression list as well.
May 13, 2026

App and Intranet Bug Fixes
- In the Pages Overview, when searching by page title, users can now sort by relevance to find more precise results quickly.

iOS
- On iOS devices, Office documents such as XLSX and DOCX files linked in the app can now be opened directly in the corresponding Office app. This improves readability and usability.

Q1 2026
April 23, 2026
App and Intranet Improvements
- The Content Designer now includes the following improvements to enhance the editor experience:
- Add background color to columns.
- Improved drag-and-drop usability with auto-scrolling and clearer drop indicators for more accurate placement.
- Automatic conversion of selected text into a hyperlink when pasting a URL.
- Updated the contextual toolbar with an intuitive Blocks + icon, including options for Container and Section to improve layout creation.
- In the Studio, now you have the option to rotate an API token from the Actions menu. Rotating a token generates a new secret while preserving the token ID and all its permissions. Any systems using the previous secret immediately lose access and must be updated to the new one. This increases security and allows you to rotate API secrets without the need to create new API Tokens.
-
In CSV Import settings, you have two new options when using the overwrite all import type:
- Overwrite and delete all users in the system that are not in the CSV
- Overwrite and delete all users that were created via CSV import. Users created via other methods are not updated.
These options give administrators greater control over managing their user base.
App and Intranet Bug Fixes
- In the Content Designer, the following issues have been fixed:
- Table borders were displayed in varying widths
- Accordion arrows displayed in different sizes on mobile
Staffbase Email Improvements
- In the Email Designer, News is now available as an element. News content can be dragged and dropped directly into columns and other modular layouts.
- If activated, administrators can now download a CSV for each sent email. The CSV includes all recipients, along with their status, such as sent, bounced, opened, and clicked. This helps analyze audience engagement and troubleshooting issues, for example, email bounces.
- In duplicated emails, the sender name and sender address are no longer copied. This prevents emails from being sent with incorrect sender information.
- In test emails, the sending dialog now shows the sender name and address used for sending. Editors can update the name and address if needed. This improves transparency and helps prevent sending errors.
- Dynamic block targeting is now also available for emails, with custom target groups uploaded via CSV. This functionality enables you to combine single-use personalization tags with dynamic blocks.
- The email preview and test email flow now display a Gmail truncation warning if an email could be shortened for Gmail recipients.
