The multi-language option allows you to add content for News, Pages, and other plugins in one of the languages configured for your organization.
Only the following plugins have the multi-language option:
- News
- Pages
- Forms
- Event Registration
- Calendars
- Quiz Calendar
- Surveys
For example, after you configure more than one language for your organization, Pages offers a multi-language setup.
When Using Multiple Languages: What Will My Users See?
The users define the content language of their App or Intranet content in their profile menu under Settings > Language settings. To learn how the user's chosen language influences their platform, see Overview of Language Management.
In case you cannot provide all content in every language of a multilingual environment, content is displayed in a default language of your choice. This means you can, for example, offer English or another commonly spoken language as a replacement.
The interface language is based on the language setting of the user's device or browser. If the device is set to a language that is not available as an interface language, default language is used as a replacement.
If a piece of content is configured in a single language and is different from the user's device and language settings, these two settings will have no effect on the content. In this case, the content will be shown in the language it was created in.
