Enabling an Additional Content Language
Content can only be created in the languages that are enabled as content languages for your app. If you want to offer content in multiple languages, you must activate these languages.
Users can select a language in their profile. Contents and menu items are displayed in the selected language for users, if they have been created.
- Open the Studio in a browser.
- In the menu, click Settings.
- In the menu click Languages.
There is a list of languages that are enabled for your app content.
- Click Add language.
- Choose a language from the dropdown menu.
- Click Ok.
Setting the Default Language
The default language is used for app content that is not available in the language of the user profile. By providing content in the default language, you ensure that users see the app content in an alternative language of your choice.
The default language is particularly important in multilingual companies. Always create pages, posts, and plugins in the default language. In this way, you ensure that your content reaches as many users as possible.
The default language should be a language that most of the employees understand. For example, in international companies English is good default language.
- Open the Studio in a browser.
- In the menu click Settings.
- In the menu click Languages.
There is a list of languages that are enabled for your app content. One language is labeled as default language.
- Click Set as default for the language that you want to use as default content language.
- Click Save.
