Staffbase enables you to add multiple languages to your platform in order to provide content to different audiences. Users who have chosen a specific language as their content language automatically see that language version. Learn more. You can also set a default language for your users in case content is not available in their selected content language.
Adding an Additional Content Language
Content can only be created in languages that are added as content languages in the Studio. If you want to offer content in multiple languages, you need to add all the languages in which you want to offer content.
Users can select a language in their profile. Contents and menu items are displayed in the selected language for users, if they have been created.
- In Studio, navigate to Settings > Languages.
The Languages page opens. - Click Add language.
- From the dropdown, select a language.
- Click OK.
You have added a new content language to your Staffbase platform. You can now create content in that language and it will be displayed to users who have it as their content language.
Setting the Default Language
If content is not available in the user's selected language, the default language is shown as a fallback. By providing content in the default language, you ensure users see the content in an alternative language of your choice. The default language is especially important in multilingual companies. Always create pages, posts, and plugins in the default language to ensure your content reaches as many users as possible. Choose a default language that most employees understand. For example, English is a good default language for international companies.
- In Studio, navigate to Settings > Languages.
The Languages page opens. - Click Set as default for the language that you want to use as default content language.
- Click Save.
