In Staffbase Studio, sending emails requires specific user permissions and roles. This article outlines key elements, including user access, email aliases, and contact synchronization, to ensure smooth and secure communication within your organization.
- Users in Employee Email
You need permission as a user to access the Staffbase Studio and draft and send emails. There are different account types for users, such as Base User, Manager, Admin, and Parent Admin.
Your organization's people can only draft and send emails if user accounts have been created for them before. If users are created via a sync or can access the Studio via SSO, Staffbase still needs to give them permission for security reasons.
- Email Aliases
Once a user is registered in the Studio, they might have to send emails on behalf of someone else, like a team or an executive. They can do this by using an alternative email address, an email alias. Only Parent Admins and Admins can create and share aliases. Base Users and Managers can only see aliases that have been shared with them. Users who have an alias shared with them, and have permission to send emails, can use that alias to send emails as if they are the person or team the alias represents.
- Email Contacts
Email contacts are the recipients of emails. Registered users can send emails to contacts, using their own email or an alias email address. Email contacts are synced (or added) from a directory.
