It is possible to give users extended rights to create or manage only specific content. This allows you to delegate work to the appropriate users for the appropriate content. For example, you can give a finance employee rights as an Author to a channel for finance team updates, allowing them to create and publish content in this channel, whereas you can give the Manager of Finance rights as an Editor in the same channel, allowing them to manage and edit this content.
- In the Studio, navigate to the content for which you want to assign an author or editor. For example, a news channel, page, or plugin.
- Click on the gear wheel to open the settings.
- Go to the settings for Editor or Author.
- Select a user or a user group from the dropdown menu.
- Click Save.
Author is a special role next to editor. News channels have both roles. For all other content types you can only assign editors.
A contributor (author) has less rights than an editor. The author role is solemnly designed for content contribution and does not allow editing or deleting posts from other contributors.
The editor has extended rights and can manage posts from all contributors in a channel.
