Text editor mode in Staffbase Email allows communicators to send plain text emails that resemble messages sent directly from personal inboxes, such as Gmail or Outlook. These emails use plain text only and do not include rich formatting, layouts, or visual elements.
Emails sent in text editor mode also offer the core functionality of Staffbase Email. This includes tracking performance metrics like opens and clicks, targeting specific user groups, and assigning emails to campaigns. This allows you to take advantage of Staffbase Email's performance metrics while sending messages that resemble personal emails.
While the Email Designer in Staffbase Email offers a wide range of features for visually rich emails, there are specific scenarios where Text Editor mode is more suitable. Consider using Text Editor Mode in the following cases:
- Distraction-free writing: A plain text mode removes formatting tools, animations, and block UI, helping you to focus purely on content.
- Better drafting: It's easier to develop a clear narrative structure, tone, and messaging without being sidetracked by design elements.
- Ideal for long-form or sensitive messages: When tone, clarity, and empathy are more important than visual polish, such as leadership updates or internal crisis communication.
- Ghostwriting: Send an email on behalf of the CEO, using their sender name and email address, styled to appear as if it was sent directly from Gmail.
