The Analytics dashboard provides deeper insights into how, when, and where users engage with the Staffbase platform. The Analytics dashboard is divided into different categories to allow you to dive deep into metrics.

This article explains the Email tab in detail, including the graphs and analytical data within it. Filters
At the top of the Email tab, you can use different filters to refine your data. Once you select a filter, it is applied to all of the graphs in the Email tab. For the date range filter, the default date range is Last Week. Learn more about filtering.
Top Metrics
There are four metrics at the top of the dashboard for a quick overview.
Sent Emails | Recipients | Open Rate | Click Rate |
This metric displays the number of emails sent in the selected time period. | This metric displays the number of unique users who were sent at least one email. | This metric displays the percentage of sent emails that were opened. | This metric displays the percentage of opened emails with a link inside that was clicked. |
The percentage next to the Open Rate and Click Rate metrics shows its trend over the last 7 days. For example, the open or click rate last week was 50% and this week is 55%. That would display a 5% positive increase. |
Graphs
In the Email tab, there are four graphs with detailed metrics.
Total Activity by Email Over Time Graph
The Total Activity by Email Over Time graph has a dropdown to switch between Total Activities and Activity Rates for Email. Additional details display when you hover over any point in time on either version of the graph.
The Total Activities line graph displays the following metrics:
- Total Recipients
- Total Opens
- Total Clicks
The Activity Rates bar graph displays the following metrics as percentages:
- Open Rate
- Click Rate
When you hover over a certain date on the graph, you can see specific data for that date, depending on the metrics selected. You can further narrow down your results by applying filters or removing metrics.
The Total Activity by Email Over Time and Activity Rates by Email Over Time graphs display detailed statistics on different Email metrics. Each metric has a corresponding color in the graph. By default, both versions of the graph display all metrics. This way, you can see how the options overlap in the entire graph. You can deselect one or more metrics to customize the graph. This allows for comparison between specific areas, for example, total recipients and total clicks.
The values on the right side of the graph also shift the appropriate high value depending on the different metrics and filters selected. For example, if the Total Recipients metric had a high value and you deselect it, the highest graph value automatically adjusts to the next highest value. The values at the bottom of the graph also shift automatically depending on the time frame selected. For large time frames, such as a year, the time displays in monthly increments. For short time frames, such as a week, the time displays in daily increments.
Deselecting an Email Metric
- In the Studio, navigate to Analytics > Email.
- Navigate to the Total Activity by Email Over Time graph.
- Click on the checkbox next to the metric you want to hide in the graph.
The metric is removed and no longer displays in the graph.
Total Opens
The Total Opens diagram displays the number of total opens, separated into unique and repeat opens.
Hovering over each type, reveals the exact number of opens and the percentage compared to the total.
Total Clicks
The Total Clicks diagram shows the number of total clicks, separated into unique and repeat clicks.
Hovering over each type, reveals the exact number of clicks and the percentage compared to the total.
Email List
The Email list is an extensive overview of the emails in your platform. The list displays the email recipients, opened, total opens, clicked, total clicks, and an icon to navigate to the email statistics page. Learn more about individual email analytics.
The list is updated daily. Metrics can take up to twenty-four hours to process and display.

Sorting the Email List
- In the Studio, navigate to Analytics > Email.
- Navigate to the Email List table.
- Click on the header by which you would like to sort the list.
The list automatically sorts in descending order by the selected header. - Optionally, click the same header again to resort the list in ascending order.
You have sorted the Email list by a specific header. If you navigate away from the Email tab, the results automatically reset to display by Opened.
