Read times in Staffbase Email help you understand how long recipients actively engage with your emails. This insight allows you to identify which messages capture attention and where engagement may drop off. It is especially useful for evaluating the effectiveness of important announcements, longer newsletters, or recurring internal updates.
Staffbase provides the read times for individual emails. In the Email overview under Recently Sent and in the Sent tab of each folder, you can access the statistics for sent emails. In the Statistics tab, the Read Time diagram shows the percentage of recipients based on the total opens. The diagram shows what percent of recipients glanced at, skimmed, or read the email, depending on the length of time they spent on it:
- Read: emails that were actively viewed for 9 seconds or longer
- Skimmed: emails that were actively viewed for 3 to 8 seconds
- Glanced: emails that were actively viewed for 1 to 2 seconds
When Read Time Data Is Available
Read time data is generated only when a recipient’s email client supports the feature. Supporting this feature requires displaying the tracking pixel without using an image proxy. If an email client blocks or reroutes images, read times cannot be recorded.
