Channel approvals are used for channels that have one or more channel responsible assigned to them. This ensures that no content is published without the prior approval of the channel responsible.
You have not yet assigned a channel responsible? Then, read this article.
Key points of this article:
Requesting channel approvals
-
Open the content for which you want to request a channel approval in the extended view.
Note: You can tell that a channel requires an approval by the lock to the right of the selected channel. If no lock is visible here, no channel approvals are needed or can be requested.
-
Click on the thumb icon on the right side of the page to open the approval settings.
-
Switch to the Channel Approval section and click the Set Approval switcher at the bottom.
Note: If you have entered more than one channel in the Channels field (left) that requires channel approval, you can use the upper switcher (Set approval for all) to set all channel approvals in one step.
-
A popup opens. Here, you can see who the channel responsibles are and what requirements have to be met for successful approval. You can also leave a comment and have to set an expiration date for the approval. Clicking the Set approval button saves the settings and requests the approval.
For channel managers: Grant/deny channel approvals
If you have been assigned a channel approval as the channel responsible, you can respond to it in just a few steps. Detailed instructions can be found below.
-
Open the content for which you need to grant a channel approval. Depending on your settings, you will receive a notification about the requested channel approval in Communications Control itself or by email.
Note: For content for which a channel approval is pending, the lock to the right of the channel is colored yellow. -
In the extended view of the content, navigate to the Approval area on the right side of the page. Click on Channel approval.
-
Click on the red or green button to select whether the approval should be granted or denied. In both cases, a popup opens in which you can justify your decision (optional). The button at the bottom right serves as confirmation.
