To ensure that videos have an effect even if they are played out to your target audience without sound, you can add subtitles in Communications Control.
Subtitles can only be uploaded to Communications Control as SRT files.
To add a subtitle to videos, you have two options:
In the Post Editor
- Drag the video you want to add a subtitle to the assets section of the post editor
- Hover over the video and click the three-dot menu in the upper left corner
- Select Manage Subtitles from the three-dot menu
- Click Upload in the popup
- Select the subtitle file language (English, German) and click Save
- Select the appropriate SRT file from your device
- Click Save in the pop-up and the subtitle will be added
In the Digital Asset Management
- Drag the video you want to add a subtitle to the assets section of the post editor
- Hover over the video and click the three-dot menu in the upper left corner
- Select Manage Subtitles from the three-dot menu
- Click Upload in the popup
- Select the subtitle file language (English, German) and click Save
- Select the appropriate SRT file from your device
In the Digital Asset Management

Open the video in Digital Asset Management in Preview mode

Select the Manage subtitles option below the video

Click Upload in the popup

Select the subtitle file language (English, German) and click Save

Select the appropriate SRT file from your device

Click Save in the pop-up, and the subtitle will be added
The video included in this article was recorded in the German version of Communications Control and back when it was still called dirico. We will provide an updated and English version of the videos as soon as possible.
Once you have added a subtitle and play the video in DAM or Editor, the subtitle will be visible in the video.
