Note on product naming: As of 2022, Bananatag is Staffbase's Employee Email product.
Test emails are a great way for you to see how your audience will view your message in their inbox. They are not tracked, and the messages will not move from the Drafts tab to Sent emails when test emails are sent out.
You can either send test emails straight from the Email Designer in your web app, or from your email client add-in. If you send a test email from the web app, there are a few points to bear in mind:
- The From address on test emails sent from the web app is preview@bananatag.com. Because of this, the emails may be filtered into a junk folder or images may not be displayed correctly.
- Images will be overlaid with a "test email" watermark to avoid forwarding.
- Test emails can be sent to only one recipient at a time.
- While editing an email draft or template in the Employee Email web app, click the Download Options icon.
- Select Send Test.
- Enter the email address of the intended recipient and click Send.
Occasionally, images may not be displayed for your test recipient(s). Due to this being an external send coming from bananatag.com, it could be one of a few things:
- An Outlook setting is blocking external content
- The SecureTemp folder is "full"
- Word's Picture placeholder setting is enabled
- Internet Explorer (IE) setting for Do not save encrypted files to disk is checked
Update: IE 11 end-of-life information
