Need to schedule an email to send later? Learn how with these simple instructions.
Local Email Scheduling uses the Employee Email add-in to schedule your outgoing employee emails through Outlook Classic and has a few specific workflow requirements, detailed below.
-
In an Email Designer draft, click Schedule Time, and use the date field or the date picker to set the schedule.
- Click Confirm to send later.
The email appears with its scheduled send date and time in your list of drafts in progress, where it can also be canceled by clicking Unschedule.
Important Considerations
There are a number of important caveats with this method of scheduling emails, primarily because this relies on functionality similar to Outlook’s Delayed Send feature.
-
Outlook must be open at the time the message is sent.
Similar to the process when using Microsoft’s Delayed Send feature, we recommend scheduling your message, then keeping Outlook open until the message is sent.
If Outlook is closed during the time when drafts are scheduled to be sent, they will be sent the next time Outlook is opened. -
Email drafts are scheduled locally only.
Email drafts that are scheduled locally through this feature are only scheduled to be sent on an individual's computer through their instance of Outlook.
Emails that have been scheduled locally with the Outlook add-in show as having been scheduled on app.bananatag.com, but will not be visible in the Outlook Outbox (or Drafts folder). -
Email drafts that are scheduled locally can be updated on app.bananatag.com.
When a locally scheduled email draft is about to be sent, the Outlook add-in will get the latest version of the draft from app.bananatag.com. Any changes made and saved in the Email Designer on app.bananatag.com will be fetched before sending it.
From Outlook Webmail, click New Message then click the Employee Email icon in the bottom right to open the sidebar.
