After a Staffbase Live event, you can make the event recording available so that employees who missed the live session can watch it later. Recordings are also useful for strategy kick-offs or important announcements, where viewers may want to rewatch the session to better understand the content.
Recording a Live Event
You can start the recording while the event is live. The recording becomes available about 1 hour after the event ends.
Start recording only when you are ready. Avoid stopping and restarting the recording. If you stop and restart, only the first recording is saved.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > Events Center > Scheduled > the event you want to record.
- Click the three dots to open the actions menu.
- Click Preview broadcast.
The Broadcast Studio tab opens. - Click Start Live Stream.
- Click the record call button, when the event is ready to be recorded.
The recording starts. -
When the event is over, and you want to stop the recording, click the stop record call button.
You can skip this step and click End Live Stream instead.
The recording is saved. It appears in the event overview 1 hour after the event ends.
Accessing a Live Event Recording
After the recording is available, you can view it and share it with other Studio users.
- In the Studio, navigate to Events > Past Events > the event recording you want to access.
- Click the three dots to open the actions menu.
- Click View.
The Overview tab opens. - Under Recording, click Watch recording to view it.
- Click Copy Link to share the recording with other Studio users.
You have accessed the recording of a Live event and shared the link with your colleagues.
Making the Recording Available to Event Audience
You can make the recording available to the audience through news posts or pages.
Prerequisite:
- You need to have access to the recording file in the My Files. If you do not have it, reach out to your administrator to make it available to you.
Adding the Staffbase Live Recording to a Post
You can add a live event recording as a cover video to a news post or as a video within the post content.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > the media or article channel to which you want to add the recording.
- Click + icon to create a post.
- Enter a title.
- Under Article Image/Video, click Choose from.
- Click My Files.
- Select the Staffbase Live collection.
- Search for and choose the video.
- Click Add.
The video thumbnail shows under Article Image/Video. - Click Save.
You have added the Staffbase Live recording as the post’s cover video. Once published, your users need to open the post to play the video.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > the media or article channel to which you want to add the event video.
- Click + icon to create a post.
- Enter a title.
- In the content editor toolbar, click the media icon.
- From the dropdown, select My Files.
- Select the Staffbase Live collection.
- Search for and choose the video.
- Click + Add Files.
The video thumbnail shows in the content editor.
You have added the Staffbase Live recording to the post body.
Adding the Staffbase Live Recording to a Page
You can add the recording to a page. The process differs depending on whether you are using the Content Designer or the Classic Editor.
- Create a page with the Content Designer.

- From the dropdown, select My Files.
- Search for and choose the video.
- Click + Add Files.
The video thumbnail shows in the content editor.
