Video subtitles are automatically generated for newly uploaded videos using AI. To ensure transparency, an AI-generated label briefly appears in the video player. This label is no longer shown after subtitles are reviewed.
Editors are also notified when a video’s subtitles need review.
You can see this notification:
-
On the video tile in the File Manager
-
On the video in the Subtitles editor
Editors are recommended to review and refine these subtitles to ensure accuracy and quality.
Accessing Video Subtitles
You can identify videos that need review by the Review subtitles label.
- In the Studio, navigate to Files > select the video you want to edit.
-
Click the three dots to open the more options menu.
-
Choose Subtitles.
The video subtitles editor opens.
If subtitles are still being generated, a message appears that generation may take a few minutes.
You have accessed the video subtitles editor.
Reviewing Subtitles
After subtitles are generated, you can review and correct typos, names, or company-specific terminology.
While the video plays, the editor scrolls with the video to match the audio. This helps you review text in context.
Subtitles are created in the video’s original language and automatically translated into English, German, French, and Spanish. It is important to note:
- Editing subtitles in the original language updates all available translations.
- Editing subtitles in a translated language affects only that language.
- You can only update text and not timestamps.
- In the subtitle editor, select the Original language tab (recommended).
- Review the subtitle text and make edits.
- Click Save.
You have edited the subtitles. Repeat the steps for the other languages.
Marking Subtitles as Reviewed
The AI-generated label for viewers and the Review subtitles label for editors disappear only after subtitles are marked as reviewed.
Before you continue, ensure:
- The original language subtitles are reviewed and saved.
- All translations are reviewed by the appropriate language editors.
- In the subtitle editor, confirm that all language versions have been reviewed.
- Click Mark as reviewed.
The Review subtitles indicator is removed and replaced with Subtitles reviewed in the editor. You can also see who reviewed them.
