Staffbase supports multi-factor authentication (MFA) for the App and Intranet, enhancing security by requiring users to verify their identity with two authentication factors before accessing their accounts. When users sign in with their credentials, MFA sends a verification code via email. To complete the sign-in process, users must enter the code as an additional layer of protection. Even if one factor, such as a password, is compromised, this extra verification step helps prevent unauthorized access. The frequency of sign-in requests depends on your platform's user session lifetime settings.
For MFA to work, users must have their primary email address on the platform. Users without an email address will not be prompted for MFA when signing in.
Benefits of MFA
Enhanced Security
MFA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by requiring multiple forms of verification, making it more difficult for attackers to compromise accounts.
Meets Security Standards
MFA helps organizations comply with security regulations and best practices, ensuring data protection and adherence to industry standards.
Protects Sensitive Data
By adding an extra layer of authentication, MFA safeguards confidential information from unauthorized access and reduces the risk of data breaches.
