You can manage your passkeys by creating new ones or deleting those that are no longer required.
Creating a passkey
You can create a passkey to sign in to your App or Intranet without entering the password.
Depending on which ecosystems you use, you would need to create a single passkey or two passkeys. Learn more about passkeys and how they work.
There are two ways to create a passkey:
- In a web browser, enter your App or Intranet domain URL. For example, https://mycompany.com
The Sign In page opens. - Sign in to your account using your sign-in method. For example, username and password, or SSO.
- Click + Create Passkey.

If you click Skip for now, you can only create a passkey in your account settings. - Follow the prompts on your device to create and store a passkey. For example, in macOS, you are prompted to use your fingerprint via Touch ID.
You have created a passkey. You can use it for every subsequent sign-in. If you need to create a new passkey, you need to create one in the Settings of your account.
- In your App or Intranet, navigate to Settings Account Passkeys.
The list of passkeys opens. - Click + Create Passkey.
The dialog to create a passkey opens. - Follow the prompts on your device to create and store a passkey. For example, on macOS, you are prompted to use your fingerprint via Touch ID.
Once you complete the prompts, your private key is saved to your device’s password manager, and your passkey appears under Settings Account Passkeys in your App or Intranet.
Signing in With a Passkey
You can sign in with a passkey once you have created one.
- In a web browser, enter your App or Intranet domain URL. For example, https://mycompany.com
The Sign In page opens. - Click Sign in with Passkey.
You are prompted to provide your fingerprint, facial recognition, or device lock.This does not work if you have not already created a passkey in your account settings. - Provide your chosen authentication method.
You are signed into your App or Intranet.
Deleting a Passkey
You can remove a passkey from your account if it is no longer needed or a device is being retired.
- In your App or Intranet, navigate to Settings Account Passkeys.
The list of passkeys opens. - Click X corresponding to the passkey you want to remove.
The dialog to remove the passkey opens. - Click Remove.
You have removed the passkey from your Staffbase platform. - In your device settings, delete the private key of the passkey from your device’s password manager.
Refer to your password manager’s documentation for the specific steps to remove stored keys or credentials.
You have completely deleted a passkey for your Staffbase account.
