Using SMS for the Intranet and Employee App transforms communication by directly engaging deskless and frontline workers. With seamless Twilio integration into the Studio, you can effortlessly send SMS messages without leaving the platform, ensuring efficient and convenient communication. You can send SMS to individual users or entire user groups.
Note that additional third-party costs will arise while using the SMS service. These expenses are outside our control, and you are responsible for understanding and managing any associated fees. Prerequisites
- You have the SMS service fully set up in Twilio.
- You have configured SMS communication in the Studio.
- Your recipients have consented to receive SMS.
- Your recipients have a valid phone number in E.164 format in the configured profile field.
- You understand the limitations to SMS character volume, encodings, and message length. Learn more in the Twilio documentation.
Steps
- In the Studio, navigate to SMS > Create SMS.
- Click Create SMS.
The Create SMS page opens. - Under Message, write the message to be sent as an SMS.
Note: You can include full URLs in a message, but remember, this may extend the overall length of the message. - Double-check the sender's phone number that is displayed.
- Under Recipients, from the Users dropdown, select individual recipients.
Note: Test it with limited users, preferably yourself as the user, before selecting multiple users. To check that the message has been sent, add yourself as a recipient. - Optionally, from the Groups dropdown, select an entire user group as recipients.
- Click Send.
A confirmation message displays. - Click Send now.
A notification with the successful sending displays.
The message is sent to the selected recipients.
The message page is cleared immediately after sending. You can view the message history and logs in the Twilio Console under Monitor > Logs >Messaging.
