Staffbase offers different types of user groups to help you target content effectively. You can manually manage users for internal manual groups and open groups. For faster bulk management, you can import a CSV file to add or replace users in a group. You need the identifier values or email addresses of users. You can only add or replace existing platform users.
The CSV import function is not available for conditional groups, as these are automatically managed based on the conditions you configure.
When to Use CSV Import For User Groups
The CSV import option is ideal for situations where you need to update or manage multiple users in a group quickly. This method saves time, reduces errors, and provides a straightforward way to keep group memberships up to date.
Common scenarios include:
- Drive adoption rate: Upload a CSV of all pending users and use the list to send tailored email communications that encourage registration.
- New hire onboarding: Import HR-provided CSV lists of new employees to quickly add them to essential systems, resources, and communication channels.
- Add event attendees: Import registered participants for conferences, webinars, or workshops to share schedules and resources.
- Send targeted communications: Upload a CSV of specific user groups, such as session attendees, product trialists, and legacy system users, to deliver precise follow-ups.
