With two-factor authentication (2FA), your user account is protected by the additional request of a confirmation code during login. With the authentication, the user's identity is verified. This provides additional security.
You can get the additional login code in an authentication app for your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator App, Microsoft Authenticator App, or Authy App. You will have to download this app to retrieve the code when you sign in.
There are two ways to enable two-factor authentication:
Activation of the two-factor authentication for all users
The license owner is allowed to enable two-factor authentication for all users at once. If you are the license owner, please follow these steps to activate 2FA.

Open the account administration by clicking your profile picture Account Administration

Open the tab License Details, then click on User Information

Set a check mark for the field Require two-factor authentication and press Save at the bottom of the page
With the completion of the 2FA-activation the registration for all users of the license is obligatory with the request of the authentication code.
The download of a 2FA app must be done by every user who logs into Communications Control. To do this, follow these steps:

Scan the barcode with your app

Activation of the two-factor authentication for your own account
If 2FA has not been set up as mandatory for all users, you may decide whether you want to use 2FA. To set up 2FA for your account, follow these instructions:

Open the personal settings via a click on your profile picture personal settings

Go to Login Methods and click the button Enable two-factor authentication

The recovery codes, that are displayed, have to be stored. These can be used to restore access to your account in case of the loss of a device with the 2FA app.
The recovery codes can be retrieved later on by clicking on the padlock in the row of the connected 2FA device.

In the authentication app you will be asked to scan the barcode - an activation code will then be displayed, which must be entered in the field provided.
You have successfully completed the activation.
Starting with the next login, you will be asked for your email address and password in the first step as usual. In the second step you will be asked to enter the code in the app. After entering the code you are successfully logged in to your account.
