Accessing the OneDrive Tree Structure in Digital Asset Management
Open the Digital Asset Management and navigate to Cloud Storage. Below, you will see the linked OneDrive license and its structure, including all Sharepoint groups and sites.
Preview of Microsoft 365 Documents
All assets available in the OneDrive license can be previewed in Communications Control. You can view Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets, and furthermore, search PDFs by keywords.
Editing Microsoft 365 Documents
It is not yet possible to edit Microsoft 365 documents in Communications Control. However, by clicking on the button at the bottom left of the preview mode of the respective document, you have the option to open the documents in a new tab. There, you can edit them as usual. After the document has been edited, update it by clicking on the arrows icon in Communications Control.
Using the Split Mode in the Post Editor
To make it even easier to implement briefings, you can use the split mode in the post editor. To do this, open the briefing area of any content or topic and add a file by clicking on the bracket on the left side of the page. The file will appear in the Asset section on the left. When hovering over the document, a two-column icon appears in the upper right corner. This indicates the split mode and opens the document in the right half of your screen. The ratio between the post editor and the document can be flexibly adjusted. By clicking on the "x" in the upper right corner, you can close the split mode.
Pinning Function for Folders and Assets
To make it easier for you to work with folders and assets from OneDrive, they can be pinned.
To pin a folder, click on the three-dot menu either in the tree structure or in the folder itself and select the Pin option. For assets, you will only find this option in the three-dot menu.
Once you have clicked the option, the respective folder will be displayed above your usual folder structure. Pinned assets can be found in the parent folder Pinned Cloud Assets.
To unpin, navigate to the appropriate folder or asset, click the three-dot menu, and select the Remove pin option.
Further functions in development
We are already working on further possibilities in the course of the OneDrive integration. As soon as these are released, we will expand this article.
