The Staffbase integration includes an additional auto-publishing channel in Communications Control. This allows companies to also plan, publish and evaluate their internal communication via Communications Control.
The integration of Staffbase is a paid extension. If you have any questions about pricing or anything else, please contact the support or your Customer Success Manager.
The integration of Staffbase in Communications Control enables:
-
the creation of multi language articles and (optional) the automatic translation of content
-
the re-synchronization of natively published Staffbase articles into the editorial calendar
-
the evaluation of typical Staffbase key figures in the analytics module
Before you can work with the Staffbase integration, you must generate a Staffbase access token. If you haven't already done so, you find the instructions here.
Creating Staffbase Posts
Creating Staffbase posts in Communications Control works in the same manner as creating other content types.
For Staffbase posts, we distinguish between three post types:
- Staffbase article
- Staffbase media
- Staffbase updates
Staffbase article
Create a new content and select the content type Staffbase article. The WYSIWYG editor will then change into this:
Here, you can fill in a title, teaser, header image or video, text, and, if required, display a preview for different devices.
Staffbase media
Create a new content and select the content type Staffbase media. The WYSIWYG editor will then change into this:
Select a header image/video, fill in a text and, if required, display a preview for different end devices.
Staffbase updates
Create a new content and select the content type Staffbase update. The WYSIWYG editor will then change into this:
Fill in the desired text and, if required, display a preview for different end devices.
The sender name of update posts equals the description of the respective API token. To adjust the sender name, follow the steps in this article.
Creating Multilingual Posts and using Automatic Translation
If you operate in different languages on Staffbase, you can create multilingual posts directly via Communications Control. To do so, click on the plus icon next to the source language above the WYSIWYG editor. You can then create the post in any additional language that you use in Staffbase.
You have two options: copy the content of the post or have it translated additionally. The second option is available if you have booked the corresponding function on the part of Staffbase.
When you initially link your Staffbase account, all languages you use in Staffbase are automatically transferred.
The video included in this article was recorded in the German version of Communications Control and back when it was still called dirico. We will provide an updated English version of the video as soon as possible.
Editing/Deleting Staffbase Posts After Publication via Communications Control
A specialty of the Staffbase integration is that posts that have already been published can be edited or deleted afterward via Communications Control.
To edit a published Staffbase post, open it. Unlike other content types, you will find the following message above the content: This content has already been published (partially or in its entirety). Changes will be published immediately. Cross-publish contributions may be partially restricted.
The WYSIWYG editor is not grayed out but can be edited. Once you have made all the changes, click the Save button, and the changes will be transferred to Staffbase.
Automatic Re-sync of Natively Published Staffbase Posts
Even if you are posting to Staffbase via Communications Control, there may be situations in which posts are posted to Staffbase directly. For this case, the automatic re-synchronization makes sure that natively published posts are visible in the editorial calendar and the content area of Communications Control.
To include such posts later in the evaluation, they can be subsequently tagged with strategic information. To do so, open the corresponding post and fill in the usual fields in the Strategy section.
Performance evaluation of Staffbase posts
To evaluate the performance of your employee communication, i.e. all Staffbase posts, you can view numerous key figures in the Analytics module.
To do this, select Staffbase from the dropdown menu in the Performance tab. Additionally, you can enter an individual time period for which you would like to receive the data.
For Staffbase posts, the following metrics enter the analytics module:
- Visits
- Engagement
- Published posts
- Engagement rate
- Active users
- Interacting users
- User funnel
