An overview of the topics within this article:
The side panel - a general overview
The side panel allows a quick editing and elaboration of all listed objects.
This opens automatically when you click on the respective objects - independent of the chosen view.
In the side panel, you can add further information to your objects or edit existing ones. The changes are applied by clicking the Save button at the bottom right.
To close the side panel at the same time as the Save action, click the arrow to the right of the button and click the Save and Close button.
In general, the side panel represents a different visualization of the detail views. Accordingly, the side panel contains just the same fields as the detail view.
Pinning function
Furthermore, the side panel can be pinned. The corresponding option can be found to the left of the close button in the side panel.
Once selected, the side panel will remain open until you uncheck the pin button and click outside the side panel or click the close button.
As long as the pinning function is activated, the side panel remains visible. If you click on the title of another idea, for example, only the content of the side panel will change.
Even if you change modules, the side panel remains in the respective modules. This way, the open side panel is displayed, when you return to the module.
Hierarchy area (available for stories, content, and topics)
The hierarchy area of the side panel is located at the bottom of the menu bar on the left. Here, you will get an overview of all items above and below the opened object.
For a topic, for example, you can see the assigned topic category as well as connected stories and their child content (cross-posts).
You can also create new Communications Control objects via the item hierarchy. The creation is done by clicking on the Create button below the respective object or on the three-dot menu to the right of the respective element.
