Navigator 2.0 is an AI-assisted configuration with reorganized configuration settings and updated user interface labels. When you upgrade, any existing Navigator configuration is preserved while additional configuration capabilities become available.
Follow this article if you activated Navigator before July 30, 2026. Once you have upgraded or if you're configuring Navigator for the first time, start directly by configuring Navigator Settings.
AI-assisted Configuration
Navigator 2.0 uses AI to generate configuration recommendations based on your platform content. These prefilled configuration recommendations provide a starting point that you can update as needed.
AI-assisted configuration can generate the following:
- Company and audience profile
- Organization-specific glossary
- Conversation starters for employees
Dedicated Configuration Tabs
Navigator 2.0 reorganizes configuration settings into dedicated tabs that group related options. The previous Identity, Knowledge, and Settings tabs have been reorganized, and additional configuration options have been introduced to support new Navigator capabilities.
Updated Configuration Tabs
The existing tabs have been updated and reorganized:

| Identity | Expanded to include AI-generated company and audience profile, along with Navigator name and greeting configuration. Personality Settings are merged with company and audience profile. Slogan is renamed to Greeting. |
| Knowledge | Reorganized to include only knowledge-specific configuration, such as Spaces. New channels and Employee Directory have been added. |
| Settings | Settings are rearranged but otherwise remain the same. |
New Configuration Tabs
The following tabs are new in Navigator 2.0:

| Overview | Displays a summary of the current Navigator configuration and provides quick links to each configuration tab. |
| Helpers | Manage experts and conversation starters to help employees start conversations and discover relevant information. Assistants are renamed Experts, but functionality remains the same. |
| Integrations | Configure how the ServiceNow integration, when activated for your platform, is used within the Navigator. |
| Glossary | Create and manage the organization-specific terminology that Navigator uses to generate more accurate and consistent responses. |
Upgrading to Navigator 2.0
- In Studio, navigate to Content > Navigator.
- Click Upgrade to Navigator 2.0.
The confirmatory dialog opens. - Click Start Upgrade.
The Activation in Progress dialog appears.
You have initiated the upgrade to Navigator 2.0.
Once the upgrade is complete, the overview appears with links to respective tabs. This indicates that your Navigator instance was upgraded to Navigator 2.0 while preserving your existing settings. You can now further configure the Navigator.
