Navigator transforms the Staffbase App and Intranet into an intelligent workplace guide. You can ask questions in any language, using voice or text, and receive instant answers based on company knowledge in the language of your input.
You can interact with Navigator in multiple ways. Ask questions in natural language, or start from predefined topics. The experience is consistent across mobile and web apps.
Switching to a Different View Mode in Desktop
The Navigator offers three view modes for your web app, ranging from immersive to minimal, so you can choose the experience that fits how you work.
- In the Intranet, open your Navigator.
- Click the icon to switch the view.
- From the view dropdown, select a mode:
- Floating: Displays the Navigator as a small overlay in the bottom-right corner.
- Sidebar: Displays the Navigator as an expanded side panel on the right.
- Fullscreen: Expands the Navigator to fill the web app
The Navigator switches to the selected view mode.
You have switched to a different view mode. You can switch it back at any time.
Getting Guidance Using Voice Input
- In the App or Intranet, open Navigator.
- Click the input icon.
Navigator opens. - Click the microphone icon and speak your question clearly.
- Click the tick icon when you have finished speaking.
The voice is converted into text. - Enter the text to get the response.
Navigator processes your request and provides a text response. You can continue the conversation using voice to ask follow-up questions or refine your request.
Getting Guidance Using Text Input
- In the App or Intranet, open Navigator.
- Enter your question in the text field.
Navigator displays a response. You can continue typing follow-up questions to explore the topic further or refine your request.
Getting Guidance Using the Conversation Starter
- In the App or Intranet, open Navigator.
- Click a conversation starter.
Navigator sends a predefined question and displays a response. You can continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions.
Providing Feedback on Responses
- In the App or Intranet, open Navigator.
- Ask a question
- Review the response.
- Click one of the feedback icons:
- Thumbs up: The response was helpful
- Thumbs down: The response was not helpful
- If you select thumbs down, optionally choose a reason:
- Misunderstood my Question
- Inaccurate Information Provided
- Answer Too Long
- Something Else
- Add additional details if needed.
- Click Submit Feedback.
Your feedback is recorded and used to improve future responses.
Reporting an Issue
Report an issue if you receive incorrect answers or encounter technical problems during a conversation.
- In the App or Intranet, open Navigator.
- Ask a question and review the response.
- Click Report Issue.
A dialog opens. - Select a reason:
- Misunderstood my Question
- Answer not Relevant to me
- Inaccurate Information Provided
- Technical Problem or Error
- Something Else
- Provide additional details to describe the issue.
- Click Report Problem.
You have reported an issue that you encountered while using Navigator.
Continuing a Recent Conversation
You can access your recent Navigator conversations and continue where you left off.
- In the App or Intranet, open your navigator.
- Click the three-line menu to view your recent conversations.
- Under Recent, select the conversation you want to continue.
The conversation threads open.
You have opened a recent conversation and can now continue from where you left off.
Getting Personal Support
You can get personal support if the Navigator does not fully answer your question. Navigator reviews the context of your conversation and offers to hand off a request to the designated contact via email if it is unable to offer an answer.
- In the App or Intranet, open your Navigator.
- Ask your question(s) and review the response(s).
- Navigator offers to open a form to get support from the team.
- Enter Open the form.
A form based on your conversation appears. - Click Open to view the form.
- Review the information.
- Click Send Email.
You have sent your form to the relevant contact.
