Comments are a central part of communication on your Staffbase platform and the perfect place to share ideas, opinions, and knowledge. Comments are a type of interaction that help connect your employees with the content you create. They are also a great way to receive direct feedback on a topic. Comments are activated by default for every newly created news channel but can be deactivated in the channel settings.
Editor roles and up can easily see an overview of comments in the Studio. The comments shown are based on the access the user has to different areas of the platform. For example, a channel editor will only see comments for their specific channel.
There are four different status types, each with its own tab for easy access:
- All: all comments left on news posts. You can hide a comment for moderation directly from this tab.
- Reported: comments that have been reported by users or a member of the moderation team. A flag with a number inside shows how many times that comment has been reported. Reported comments are still visible to users. You can hide a comment for moderation directly from this tab. This tab is only visible when the comment reporting feature is activated. - Hidden for Moderation: comments that have been hidden from beneath news posts. You can remove a comment directly from this tab. Learn more about hiding comments for moderation.
- Removed: comments that have either been removed or moved to trash. Learn more about removing comments.
The Comments overview shows a list of comments in the most recent order. The comment, author, original post, and comment date are displayed. It is also possible to filter the overview by News Channel.
Accessing the Comments Overview
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > System > Comments.
The Comments overview opens. - Click on a tab to see the comments under a specific status.
You have accessed the Comments overview. You can navigate to the users profile by clicking on their name or to the news post by clicking on the title. In the overview, you can futher filter by news channel or Space.
Filtering by News Channel
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > System > Comments.
The Comments overview opens. - Click News Channels to open the filter dropdown.
- Select a news channel or channels by which you would like to filter the comments.
The filter only displays news channels to which you have access.
- Click Apply.
The filtered comments display.
You have filtered the comments by a specific news channel or channels. Remove the selection at any time to display all the comments again.
Viewing Comments by Space
- In the Studio, navigate to a specific space.
- Navigate to Content > System > Comments.
The Comments overview opens.
You have viewed the comments by a specific Space. All comments shown are only for content within the selected Space. Return to the All content space to see the comments from the entire platform.
