The qualified name for SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) can be mapped to a profile field to update the profile field automatically during user synchronization. Staffbase allows you to map both types of profile fields for automatic user synchronization using SCIM. Learn more about the different types of profile fields.
Your IT department can provide you with the respective qualified SCIM name that is used in the SCIM schema. Learn more about Staffbase user management using SCIM.
Qualified SCIM Name for a System Profile Field
For a system profile field, the qualified name for the SCIM attribute is filled automatically with the SCIM default mapping. However, you can edit the qualified SCIM name for the system field if you do not want to use the SCIM default mapping.
Qualified SCIM Name for a Custom Profile Field
You need to configure the qualified SCIM name for a custom profile field in order to automatically fill information into custom profile fields during user provisioning via the SCIM API.

Configuring the Qualified SCIM Name
Prerequisites
- You have SCIM 2.0 for managing users in the Staffbase platform.
- You have received the qualified SCIM attribute from your IT department for the profile with which you want to map.
- In the Studio, navigate to Settings > Profile fields.

Navigate to the profile field for which you want to configure the Qualified SCIM name and hover over the profile field.
The gear wheel displays. - Click the gear wheel to open the settings.
A dialog to edit the profile field opens. - In the Qualified SCIM name field, provide the SCIM attribute to map the profile field.
An example of a qualified SCIM name looks like this:urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:extension:showcase:2.0:User:skillset
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
You have mapped the profile field to a SCIM attribute. The next time you run a user synchronization using SCIM, this profile field updates automatically.
