Topics are periods in which you plan to publish your content, e.g. on the occasion of an event or a topic week. By definition, they are always limited in time.
Topics can be created in several places in Communications Control:
- in the topics module (click on the pink plus button)
- in the blue navigation bar (click on the pink plus button Topic)
- in the calendar (click on the desired day topic)
All entry points lead you to an input mask where you can enter the details of your new topic.
The topic detail view consists of two sections:
Topic Detail View: Strategy
In the input mask, fill in the title, start date, and end date fields. Then, confirm by clicking the Save button. For better visibility in the calendar, topics can be color-coded.
The strategic information for topics include:
- Topic category
- Event
- Target groups
- Tags
- Responsible user
- Assigned to
- Briefing
- Advertising options (advertising channels and budgets)
- Goals
For the fields topic category, event, target group, and tags, there is a special feature: You can either choose from the already created entities or create new entities with the quick create function.
By clicking on the fields event and topic category, you can view their details.
Topic Detail View: Related Items
In the Related Items tab, you can see all the ideas, content, events, and assets that have been assigned to the current topic.
Creating related items can be done via the corresponding modules by entering the topic in the strategy area. Alternatively, you can create the related items directly in the topic detail view. This offers one advantage: all strategic information from the topic is automatically transferred to the related item.
You can permanently delete topics via the trash icon in the corresponding column.
We recommend always assigning topics to topic categories. This is the best way to evaluate your communication later.
