It takes time, effort, and teamwork to create captivating news which engages your employees. Easily get input or confirm details in posts with the new Content Reviews feature, available for all news channel types.
Post creators can request reviews on their content by sharing the post. Invited collaborators will receive access via email, and can then leave comments in the new Review tab, located next to the news post. Mention your colleagues and use comments to give general feedback, approval for publication, and more.
Content Reviews is currently available for beta testing. After the beta period, it will only be available for customers with the Mission Control package.
With Content Reviews, you can:
- Mention users by typing @ followed by their username
- Share a post to request reviews via email
- Comment and see others' comments
- Share feedback, review, or approval through commenting
- Receive email notifications about new comments and @mentions
Sharing News Posts
The sharing function allows you to ask for feedback, assign tasks, or request reviews on News posts with just one click. Once invited, collaborators receive access to the post via email, and can leave comments in the Review tab of a News post.
- In the Studio, navigate to the News post you want to share.
- Under the Review tab, click Share.
The Share post dialog opens. - Click in the text field.
A list with suggested users opens.
- Select the user from the list or type the name of the user in the text field.
- Click Send Invite.
In the dialog, the invited user appears under Invited to Review Page.
You have shared a News post with a user. You can always undo the sharing by clicking X next to the listed user.
Using @Mentions for Content Review
The @mentions function allows you to tag your colleagues in the Review tab of News posts. Mentioned users receive an email, making the review process as fast and streamlined as possible.
Prerequisites
- You have included the mentioned user, individually or as part of a user group, in the Visibility field selection of the Space to which the channel and News post belong
- You have included the mentioned user, individually or as part of a user group, in the Visibility in the App field selection of the channel to which the News post belongs
- You have invited the mentioned user to the News post using the Share function
If the visibility requirements are not met, the user is not shown in the dropdown menu when typing @ followed by their name. This includes users with system-wide permissions, such as Editors, Managing Editors, and Administrators.
If the visibility requirements are met but the user has not been invited to the News post, they receive an email regarding the @mention. But the link in the email opens to an error page.
- In the Studio, navigate to the post you want to mention a colleague in.
- Under the Review tab in the Comment field, type @ followed by the user name.
A list with suitable users opens.
- Select the user you want to mention.
- Optionally, write further instructions in the comment field.
- Click Save.
The comment appears below the comment field.

Assigning Tasks for Content Review
Incomplete review tasks do not block a post from being published.
- In the Studio, navigate to the post you want to assign a task to.
- Under the Review tab in the Comment field, type @ followed by the user name.
A list with suitable users opens.
- Select the user you want to mention.
- Optionally, write further instructions in the comment field.
- Select the option Assign to [user name].
When assigning tasks, only one user can be mentioned.
- Click Save.
The comment appears below the comment field.
You have assigned a task to a user. The assigned user receives an email informing them about the task. The email includes a link to the News post.
After completing an assigned task, the reviewer cannot mark it as done. This function is not yet available.
Requesting Approvals for Content Review
Content approvals ensure consistency with organizational standards, enhancing the quality of published posts. Within the Review tab, you can request approvals from responsible users with just one click.
Incomplete approvals do not block a post from being published.
- In the Studio, navigate to the post you want to request approval for.
- Under the Review tab in the Comment field, type @ followed by the user name.
A list with suitable users opens.
- Select the user you want to mention.
- Optionally, write further instructions in the comment field.
- Select the option Request approval from [user name].
When requesting approval, only one user can be mentioned.
- Click Save.
The comment appears below the comment field.
You have requested approval from a user. The assigned user receives an email informing them about the task. The email includes a link to the News post.
Approving or Rejecting Approval Requests for Content Review
- Click the link in the email you received regarding the requested approval.
The News post opens in your Staffbase platform.
Alternatively, in the Studio, navigate to the post you want to approve or reject.
- In the Review tab, scroll to the comment with the requested approval.
- Click Approve or Reject.
