Supported Media File Sizes and Formats

To allow you to easily share media content with your employees, you can upload the most popular file sizes and formats to your platform.

Supported Media File Sizes

Media is an essential part of your platform. Use files within the following size range to ensure a high-quality media experience.

Videos: up to 4 GB
Images: up to 25 MB
Attachments: up to 2 GB

While maintaining the quality of your media, it is recommended that you choose the smallest file size possible. This will help you avoid long waiting times when uploading media.

Supported Formats for Uploading

Videos

Staffbase supports the majority of the most popular video formats.

For best results, Staffbase recommends the following:

Video and audio format: H.264 video with aac audio in mp4, mov, or avi format
Maximum video resolution: 720p (1280x720 px)
Maximum frame rate: 30 fps
Maximum file size: 4GB

Although most video formats are supported, if you find that a video format is not supported, convert the video file into a recommended format and upload it.

Images

The supported image formats are:

jpg
png
gif
tif
bmp
HEIC (iOS High Efficiency Format)
AVIF (AV1 Image File Format)

Staffbase recommends using the sRGB color profile for image files that you upload to your platform in order to ensure that images are displayed with good visibility on all devices.

Audio Files

The supported audio formats are:

You can upload other files to the platform, use them as an attachment, and download them. However, you cannot open or run them in the platform.
For example, you can upload JavaScript files to the platform, but you cannot run the file.
