What kinds of conversations are possible in chat?

- Group chat conversations can include 2+ individual users, user groups, or a combination of individual users and user groups.
How can I search for users when starting a new chat conversation?
You can search for a user by first or last name. Depending on the settings of your organization, you may also be able to search for users by department, position, location, and other details.
What is the maximum number of participants in a group chat conversation?
A chat conversation can contain a maximum of 128 individual participants. A user group is counted as a single participant.
What kinds of files can I send in chat?
You can send different types and sizes of files in the mobile and web app.

Can I download media from a chat message?
Yes, you can download media sent within chat messages. On both mobile and web apps, you need to open the media files completely in order to download them.
Can I edit my chat messages?
Yes, if enabled for your organization, you can edit your own chat messages. You can edit a message as many times as you need. After editing a message, an indication will display next to the message, so that other users in the conversation know there have been changes to the message.
Can I quote and reply to a specific chat message?

Can I delete chat messages or conversations?

Do new members see the previous chat history of a group chat conversation?
Yes, new members see the complete chat history, including all messages exchanged in the conversation before they joined the group.
How do I know if my chat message has been read?
Chat has a read receipt function for one-to-one conversations. Read receipts are not yet available for group conversations. If enabled for your organization, an eye icon will appear below the most recent message as soon as the conversation is opened.
