What is a Partial CSV Import?
Partial CSV imports allow administrators to perform CSV imports that only affect a portion of overall users. By creating a partial CSV tag, you can mark a subset of users to indicate which users should be updated. This can be very useful, for example, for organizations with different branches or locations. Each branch or location would have a specific partial CSV tag, making it easy for a centralized administrator to update users from each branch separately or for an administrator of a decentralized location to manage their user independently.
Is Partial CSV Import Right for My Organization?
Staffbase only recommends partial CSV import for organizations that do not have a centralized employee management system. When the personnel of each branch or location of an organization is managed autonomously on-site, partial CSV import can be a great help.
Organizations with decentralized branches benefit from partial CSV import, because it allows an administrator to make an update to a certain group of users. This can help contain errors, as only a subset of the complete user base is updated during the partial CSV import.

Appointing Administrators
In order to enable a user to perform a partial CSV import, you must make them a system-wide administrator. By doing this, this user will also have access to all other app-wide settings and other partial CSV tags.
It is also good to keep in mind that only one CSV import can be performed in the app at a time. If an administrator does not complete a CSV import immediately, all other administrators are blocked from initiating a new import until the import has been completed or deleted by the administrator who initiated it. Staffbase generally advises to add as few administrators as possible.
