The Cornerstone OnDemand integration with Staffbase brings learning directly into the Employee App or Intranet, closing the gap between employees and learning resources. The learning information and notifications are visible where employees already work, especially for frontline teams.
Learning data is retrieved from Cornerstone and displayed in a mobile-optimized, read-only dashboard in Staffbase. Employees can start or resume courses with one click, which opens courses in Cornerstone, where the learning is managed and completed.
Learning Experience in Staffbase
To give employees access, you create a learning instance for Cornerstone in the Learning plugin. The link to the learning instance can be used anywhere in your content to draw attention to it. This instance displays a personalized learning dashboard in Staffbase. You can create multiple learning instances in the Learning plugin and map them to your Cornerstone instances.
The dashboard includes two tabs:
- Your Courses: View assigned courses
- Recommended: Browse available learning content
Each course is presented as a tile displaying the following details:
- Title
- Type
- Duration
- Status: Shows the current progress with the following statuses:
- Completed
- In Progress
- Overdue
- Assigned
- Due date: Shows when the course must be completed with the following date labels:
- Date
- Due Today
- Due Tomorrow
- Due in
- Overdue
Employees receive notifications directly in Staffbase when a new course is assigned.
Course Details and Access
When employees click on a course, they are taken to the course details page that provides:
- Course metadata, such as title, format, duration, and due date
- A course description
- A contextual action button, such as:
- Start Course
- Resume
- Request Access
Clicking the button opens the course in Cornerstone. Depending on your organization’s setup, employees are either signed in via Single Sign-On (SSO) or prompted to sign in.
Steps to Set up the Integration

Set up OAuth client DAEMON in Staffbase for Cornerstone with the following parameters:
- Client Name: <based on your naming convention>
- Scopes: profile, openid
- Authentication: Client Secret
- Configure your Cornerstone environment
- Install the Learning plugin in Staffbase
- Add the Learning integration in the Staffbase Studio
