You need to first properly set up your user base to effectively use Staffbase Email. Your Staffbase Email user base consists of two types of users:
- Contacts: Users who can only receive emails and cannot access the Studio.
-
Studio Users: Users with access to the Studio who can perform actions based on their rights.
Studio users can also receive emails, just like contacts, provided they belong to user groups for targeting emails.
User-Centric Roles
You can assign roles to only Studio users. Roles enable users to perform specific tasks based on the permissions granted to them.
These are the user-centric roles in Staffbase Email:
|
Administrator This is the most powerful role and can perform any action in the Studio. Although the role can perform any task, the main task is user management in the platform. |
|
|
Managing Editor This Studio role has full access to all actions available to the administrator excluding the ability to manage users and the settings. |
|
|
User This role has limited access to the Studio. The administrator can provide additional rights to perform specific tasks in the Studio. |
Content-Centric Roles for Studio Users
As an administrator, you can assign the following additional rights to users:

Administrators and managing editors have the exclusive right to delete all folders; space administrators can delete folders in their Space.
When creating a folder, you can grant one of the following permissions:
- Folder Administrator: Can manage administrative tasks for a specific folder in Email.
