Add the Box connection to let your users search for and access Box content from the Staffbase platform.
Prerequisites
You or a Box admin have generated the following in Box:
- An endpoint for Staffbase to access Box instance
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- In the Studio, navigate to Settings > Third Party Connections.
The Third Party Connections page opens. - Under Box, click Add.
The dialog to add Box connection opens.
- Fill in the following fields with information you generated in Box.
- Instance Name
- Client ID
- Client SecretThe instance name is the name in front of box.com. If there is no name in front of box.com, use “app” as the instance name.
- Select the visibility for the Box integration from the dropdown menu.
- Click Add.
You have successfully connected Box to Staffbase. The connection does not give access to Box content yet. You need to enable Box Search in the Studio to make it available to users.
Enabling Box Search in Staffbase
- In the Studio, navigate to Settings > Third Party Connections.
- Under Box, click on the expand icon.
- Enable the toggle for Box Search.
The dialog to activate Box Search opens.
- Click Activate.
You have successfully enabled Box Search in your Staffbase platform. From now on, when users use the global search, a dedicated tab for Box appears. Under the Box tab, if the user is signed into the Box account, all search results for the specific search term are listed.
When using the global search for the first time after enabling the Box Search integration, users need to sign-in with the Box credentials.
