Ideas can be created in several places in Communications Control:
-
Via the pink plus button in the blue bar (in every module)
-
Via the pink plus button in the table view of the ideas module
Within the creation mask, select a title. Additionally, you can add a detailed description and the current editing status. You can also enter strategic information like the content type, several tags, the topic category, a topic, responsible users, a person who is assigned to the idea, a target group, an event, an idea creator (=idea generator), and a URL.
For the fields tags, topic category, topic, target group, and event, there is a special feature: quick creation. This allows you to create for example an event from within the idea. The quick creation modal opens above the idea, so once the event is created, you are back in your idea.
By clicking on the fields Event, Topic, or Topic Category, you can view their details. This can be helpful if background information is needed during the idea creation.
You can also add assets to your idea, either from the Digital Asset Management, by uploading a new asset, or by adding an asset via URL.
To the right of the idea title, you can upvote the idea. This shows your colleagues that you like the idea. In the heart, you can see the amount of users who upvoted the idea.
Clicking the clock icon, you can activate the notifications for the idea. Afterward, you will be informed about every activity within the idea. Depending on your notification settings, you will be informed via email, in-app or push notification.
On the right side of each idea, you have the possibility to use several collaboration functions: Tasks, approvals, and comments.
Tasks that are created here are automatically linked to the respective idea and can be found in the task management module.
By clicking on the thumbs icon, you initiate an approval process. You can read more about approvals here.
Using the chat icon, you can leave comments on the idea. You can use the @ to tag other users. They will receive a notification about the mention in the corresponding idea.
After saving your idea, you can share it, copy it, or convert it into a topic, story, or content. Click here to find out how to convert ideas.
In addition to the regular saving via a click on the Save button, there are further actions that can go along with saving the idea. The corresponding menu opens with a click on the arrow to the right of the Save button and gives you the following options:
-
Save and back to list
-
Save and create new idea
-
Save and copy idea
-
Save and create new template
To permanently delete an idea, click on the trash can icon.
