The Staffbase platform is designed to accommodate content with varied life spans on the App users’ radar. Such a design helps to maximize engagement and sharing of content, resulting in improved communication.
Let’s discover the various types of content depending on their longevity:
- Short-Lifespan Content
-
The content remains active in the user’s radar for a brief time and could disappear from there either due to inactivity or has completely lost its relevance. The brief lifespan of the content does not necessarily mean that they are not as relevant in comparison with other content, only that the relevance is limited. During their short lifespan such content often creates a high level of social interactions, for example, comments on a recent event, making this content very dynamic. The latest content replaces the older content in the newsfeed. This also depends on the frequency in which newer content is published.
Typically, short-lived content is published in the App as Update posts or Media posts. Such content could be Non-Availability for Parking Space, Welcome the New Employee, Notice on Change in Schedule, Announce an Event, Picture of the Day, and so on.

- Medium-Lifespan Content
-
The content remains active in the user’s radar for some time and could disappear from there either due to inactivity or has lost its relevance. Although some of the content may lose relevance over time do not appear in the newsfeed, unless unpublished or deleted, the content can be located through searches.
Typically, medium-lived and dynamic content is published in the App as Article posts and sometimes Media posts or Update posts. Often, medium-lifespan content is outdated regularly and therefore replaced with new content from time to time. Such content could be Marketing Strategy for Q4, Improving Productivity, Picture of the Month Contest, Bulletin Board, and so on.
To regularly publish medium-lifespan content, look at the News Quickstart Guide.
- Long-Lifespan Content
-
The content remains active in the user’s radar for a long time due to its high relevance and permanent nature or the limited chances of going out of date.
Typically, rather static content are published in the App as Pages. Static pages do not appear in the news feed. Pages are the perfect place to inform About the Company, Contact Us, Mission and Vision, Safety Guidelines, and so on.
To set up static pages, follow our Pages Quickstart Guide.
