Inviting Staffbase to your Google Play Console account allows Staffbase to manage your employee app in the Google Play Store. This means we’ll take care of creating and maintaining the app store page for your app, publishing your app each release, and solving rejections when possible.
Creating the Google App
To start the processes and configure the settings from Google’s side, you need to create an empty app. As this app won’t go live yet, it does not have content yet and you can still change many settings later. For example, the app name you enter in the App name field doesn’t need to be final, and you can change it later. However, the app name that is part of the package name can’t be changed after you create the app, so choose it carefully.
- Sign in to the Google Play Console.
- Navigate to All apps > Create app.
- In the App name field, enter an app name.
You can finalize the name later. -
In the Package name field, enter a package name that follows the Staffbase naming convention:
com.companyname.appname.android.If the package name is not available, adjust it and check again.
Package names must be unique across the entire Google Play ecosystem and can only be registered once. If you are unsure which package name to use, contact the Staffbase onboarding team before you create the app. - From the Default language dropdown, select a language.
You can finalize the language later. - For App or game, select the App option.
- For Free or paid, select the Free option.
-
If you agree with the laws, terms, and policies given in the Declarations section, acknowledge all of the following:
- Developer Program Policies
- US export laws
You can only proceed if you acknowledge all. If you have questions, consult with your professional legal advisor. Staffbase cannot provide any legal advice. - Select Create app.
