News allows audience-specific publishing of dynamic content in the Staffbase App and Intranet. It is organized into a three-layered system of news pages, channels, and posts. Highlighting and acknowledging are two options that give news posts more attention within a new feed.

Highlighting

Highlighting brings attention to a news post from within the news feed and in the post itself. It provides an Important label at the top of the article. This signals to readers that the article is of top importance and should not be missed.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgements ask employees to confirm that they’ve read a specific news post, making it ideal for mandatory or security-relevant updates. This helps customers improve compliance, reduce follow-up effort, and create a reliable audit trail for critical communications.

Acknowledgments are available for all news channel types. When activated in the Options section of a specific post, the post is clearly marked with a To Acknowledge badge so readers instantly know that action is required. In the post, employees click an Acknowledge as Read button, which is recorded. Users can only acknowledge the post once.

In the Studio, Editors & up can view the number of acknowledgements and export a CSV list of users who acknowledged via the Post Statistics. If the percentage of acknowledgements is lower than desired, editors can resend the notification to only those users who have not yet acknowledged the post.
