Visibility settings in the Content Designer allow you to control when, where, and to whom a piece of content on a page is displayed. You can show content only to selected audiences or hide it from others. This ensures the right content appears on the right device without duplicating pages.
Search, Navigator, and AI answers do not take visibility restrictions on a block, container, or section level into account. To keep content secure, Staffbase recommends creating separate pages with the appropriate page-level visibility settings.
You can apply visibility rules to sections, containers, and individual blocks based on:
- Device type: Choose from Desktop, tablet, or mobile
- User groups: Show content only to selected groups or hide it from specific audiences
You can combine these options. For example, you can show content only to a specific user group on desktop or hide content from certain groups while keeping it visible to everyone else.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > Pages > the page you want to edit or build.
Optionally, in the app, click the Edit icon to update a page. - Select the section, container, or block you want to configure.
- In the contextual toolbar, click the pencil icon to edit.
- In the Visibility tab, configure the following options:
- Shown on: The devices on which the content is shown.
- Visible to: The users who can see the content.
- Hidden from: The users who cannot see the content.
You have configured the visibility for an element.
