You can set custom background colors and images for sections and containers in the Content Designer. In addition, you can apply color overlays to mute background images and control contrast. This helps you highlight content, improve contrast, and align page designs with your brand guidelines.
Only branded colors defined in App and Intranet settings are available. If you need additional colors, ask your administrator to add them in the App and Intranet settings.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > Pages > the page you want to edit.
- Select the section or container you want to update.
The contextual toolbar opens. - Under Design, select one of the following options:
- Select the Background Color option.
- Select a color from the branded color dropdown.

- Select the Background Image option.
- Click Add Image.
The My Files dialog opens. - Select or upload an image.
Click Add.

You can add an overlay to background images to improve text readability and visual consistency.- Optionally, adjust the Overlay toggle to enable an overlay.
- Under Overlay, choose a color from the Brand Color dropdown.
- Under Set Opacity, adjust the slider or enter a numeric value.
