The My Files in the Content Designer lets you upload, browse, and add media files directly to your page. From the side panel, you can insert files into containers or columns using drag and drop or keyboard-friendly actions. Once you add a media file, you can resize or crop, or edit its settings, visibility, and accessibility directly on the page.
- In the side panel, select the media icon to open My Files.
- Upload files or use existing media from your files or collections. You can:
- Select the column or container where you want to add the file.
- Select a file from the My Files flyout.
- Click Add.
You have added the file directly to the selected container or column.
When you drag a file into the designer, you don’t need to target the insertion line. Files automatically snap into place above or below existing content.
- Select a file from the My Files flyout.
- Drag it to the desired container and drop it.
Use the quick actions menu to add files efficiently without leaving the keyboard.
- Select the column or container where you want to add content.
- Press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + K.
- Select Add media.
- Select a file from the Add media list.
You have added the file directly to the selected container or column.
You can duplicate existing content by copying and pasting files directly within the designer.
- Select the file you want to copy.
- Press Cmd/Ctrl + C or use the copy option from the right-click menu.
- Select the container where you want to paste the file.
- Press Cmd/Ctrl + V or use the paste option from the right-click menu.
You have added media to your page. To make changes to the media element, select the media you want to edit.
You have the following options to manage the file:
- In the contextual toolbar, click the pen icon to edit the image.

Content tab:
- View metadata.
- Adjust the alignment.
- Add or edit a caption below the image.
- Add alt text for accessibility.
- Visibility: Control where and to whom the block is shown.

Content tab:
- Select the crop icon in the contextual toolbar.
- Optionally resize directly on the canvas.
- Select freeform crop or an aspect ratio.
- Select Done.
- Select the trash icon in the contextual toolbar.
- Alternatively, use the Backspace or Delete key.
