Custom groups allow Editors to create more precise target audiences within a folder by uploading a CSV file. The folder in which emails are created defines their potential recipient pool. Editors can decide if the audience for that email is all users, specific user groups or users, or a custom group. The custom group gives Editors more flexibility, as they can tailor audiences more precisely. Learn more about Adding a Custom Target Group via CSV in Staffbase Email.
What should be included in the CSV file?
All email addresses included in this CSV file must already be part of the folder's recipients. The addresses should be a subset only. Any newly added addresses will not be added to the target audience and will not receive an email.
The CSV file must also list all email addresses in the first column.
How can I see which email addresses were not added to the audience?
Once you have uploaded the CSV, the number of recipients displays below the file. Email addresses that were not added will display an error message. Click Download Report next to the error message to see which email addresses were not added. Email addresses that are not part of the folder’s original target audience are not added to the target group of the email.
Can I add additional users or user groups as recipients on the summary page?
No, you cannot add other individual users or user groups in addition to the CSV file.
Can I delete an uploaded CSV file?
Yes, you can delete the CSV file by clicking the trash icon. Then you can start the upload again.
Can I have an example CSV file?
Yes, you can download an example CSV file. The download option will appear as soon as you have selected Custom Group under Target Audience.
Can I reuse the custom group in other emails?
No, the CSV file has to be uploaded individually for each email. It is not saved to be used across emails.
