Spaces are designated areas in the Studio to organize and manage content that needs to be made available to specific users. Spaces are similar to departments of your organization, headed by the respective department heads and in this case, headed by the space administrators. There can be any number of departments in an organization. Similarly, you can create any number of spaces. Just as departments bring more structure to an organization for operation, spaces bring a definite structure to the day-to-day management of the Studio. For example, for an organization that has offices in different locations, you can create a space for each office to easily organize their location-specific email communications.
Similarly, spaces can be extended to other use cases, such as different interest groups, senior management, training for new employees, special initiatives, different departments, and so on. The use cases differ for every organization, as each organization is unique in its structure and communication needs. Spaces are ideal for creating a structure based on the needs of your organization and offer:
The space administrator manages the space and has full autonomy over email communication within the space, such as creating, deleting, sending, and organizing the contents of the space. In addition, space administrators have access to analytics for their space, which helps them to analyze the trends and cater to the space more efficiently.
Spaces provide a well-defined structure, in which system-wide administrators have a clear, high-level overview of all the spaces within the platform. Whereas the space administrator has a clear overview and autonomy over their respective space only. Here the system-administrator delegates spaces to space administrators, who have autonomy over their respective spaces. Also, space administrators do not have access to user management or system-wide app settings. This prevents potential issues that could arise from having too many system-wide roles with access to top-level app settings.
Easy Email Targeting
As a space administrator or an editor, you can navigate to the specific space and create, manage, and send out email communication without having to define the audience. In this way, as an editor you don’t need to define the audience in each individual email. Once the settings are defined, they are reused for all the emails created thereafter.
