The News Channel Overview is an easy-to-use page for all your News channels which gives all the information you need at a glance. Ideal for large enterprise organizations with many news channels, the overview allows you to sort and view existing channels or create new ones.
View all your news channels on the All Content overview page or see the overview for each individual Space. By default, the overview shows the first 5 channels, but using the results dropdown you can customize it to display 5, 10, 25, 50, or 100 channels at once. By switching to the sorting view, it is also possible to easily change the order of the channels.
Each news channel has its’ own row with the following options:

View Metadata
- Posts: the number of published and draft posts
- Users: the number of users who can view the content
- Space: the space in which the channel is found
- Last Post Published: the date of the last published post
- Published/Unpublished: if the channel is published or unpublished
- Public: show when the channel is included in the public space

Open Channel
- Click the Channel title to open the detailed view with all the posts, including post statistics and actions

Create Post
- Create a new draft post directly within a channel

Open Action Menu
- Manage the channel settings
- Change the publication status
Create a New Channel
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Click Create Channel.
The Create Channel dialog opens. - Provide a name and select a channel type.
If your organization uses Spaces, and you are creating a new channel from the All Content area, you must additionally select a Space.
- Click Save.
The settings page of the new channel opens.
You have created a new channel. It will display as the last result on the overview page.
Create a New Post in a Channel
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Navigate to the channel to which you want to add a post.
- Click the plus icon.
The Create article draft page opens.
You have created a new draft post from the channel overview. You can navigate back to the channel or overview of channels at any time.
Open Channel Settings
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Navigate to the channel for which you want to open the settings.
- Click the three dots.
The action menu opens. - Click Settings.
The channel settings open.
You have navigated to the channel settings. Update the settings or navigate back to the channel or overview of channels.
Publish a Channel
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Navigate to an unpublished channel.
- Click the three dots.
The action menu opens. - Click Publish.
The Publish Channel dialog opens. - Click Publish.
You have published a channel and it is now visible to your employees. The channel has the Published label in the overview.
Unpublish a Channel
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Navigate to a published channel.
- Click the three dots.
The action menu opens. - Click Unpublish.
The Unpublish Channel dialog opens. - Click Unpublish.
You have unpublished a channel and it is no longer visible to your employees. The channel has the Unpublished label in the overview.
Sort News Channels
Changing the order of the channels inside of the News plugin changes their order in the menu in your Employee App or Intranet. The change will be visible to all users.
- In the Studio, navigate to Content > News.
The News Channels page opens. - Click switch to the sorting view at the bottom of the overview.
The sorting view opens. - Drag and drop the channels to reorder.
The order is automatically updated. - Click Return to Overview.
The News channel overview is updated with the new channel order.
You have sorted the news channels and changed the order of the news channels. You can sort the channels again at any time.
