Known Issue, First Reported September 2020
On iOS devices running on iOS 14, uploading a photo or video to your employee app may not work. This is because with the iOS 14 update, Apple has changed the permissions for apps to access photos and media files.
With iOS 13 and earlier versions, you could either grant or deny access for all photos and media in your photos library. With iOS 14, Apple has introduced a new option to allow access to selected photos and media. Now, by default, the apps for which you had previously granted access to all photos and other media files will have access to only selected photos and media files.
Currently, you cannot upload media to your app with the new default access permission, even if you have newly installed your app on iOS 14 .If you try to upload photos and media files to your employee app, your gallery will show all the media files, including those for which you have not provided access permission. You will encounter an error when trying to upload a media file.
To fix this issue, update the settings.
Fix
- On your iOS 14 device, open Settings.
- Navigate to Privacy > Photos.
- Select your employee app.
The photo permission for your app opens. - Select All Photos.
Now, you can upload photos and videos to your app.
