By configuring the searchability of a profile field in the Employee Directory, previously known as Network plugin, you can determine which profile fields will contribute to search results. For example, if both first name and department are searchable profile fields and a user begins their search with ‘mar’, both users listed in the Marketing department and users with names beginning with these letters, such as Mark, will appear.
- In the admin interface, navigate to Settings > Profile Fields.
- Click the gear wheel next to the profile field you want to make searchable in the Employee Directory.
The dialog to edit the profile field opens.
- Define if you want the profile field to be searchable in the Employee Directory by moving the slider for Searchable.
- Click OK.
When the searchable setting is enabled, users are able to search input from this profile field, such as specific names or locations.
