@Mentions are a way of tagging users and getting their attention in the Employee App and Intranet. @Mentions are available in multiple locations across the Staffbase platform. In News, you can tag users directly inside your posts. For example, tag a team that has successfully completed a large project or celebrate a colleague who has a big work anniversary.
You can notify your colleagues by tagging them with the @ symbol followed by their name. A list of matches displays in a dropdown and narrows down automatically as you continue to type. Only users with the appropriate access to the post display in the dropdown. Once you have published the post, clicking on the @mention takes you to the user’s profile.
The colleagues you tag receive a notification in the notification center. They also receive a push notification on their mobile device, if they have push notifications enabled.
The names of tagged users are not displayed in the Public Area of your App or Intranet. In that case, the names are anonymized with asterisks*. For example, @JohnSmith is anonymized to @***.
@Mentioning a User
- In your Employee App or Intranet, navigate to a news post.
- In the content editor, type the @ symbol and name of the user you want to tag.
- Select the user you want to tag.
You have tagged an employee using @Mentions. Once you publish the post, the tag appears in the user’s notification or via push notification on their mobile device. Users reading the post can click on the tag to go to that person’s user profile.
