With the global chat, you can communicate with your colleagues in Communications Control. In this article, we explain the basics of the global chat. You can find further articles here:

Accessing the Global Chat
You can find the global chat in the main navigation of Communications Control. To the left of the pink plus button, you will see a chat icon.
Clicking on the chat icon opens the global chat in the bottom right corner above the module you are currently in.
Overview in the Global Chat
After clicking the chat button in the blue bar, an overview of all chats and conversations you have already started opens. To have the most important chats always at hand, there is a categorization into Pinned and Recent. To pin a chat or conversation, click the three-dot menu on the right and select the Pin option.
Notifications in the Global Chat
To make sure you don't miss any messages in the global chat, the chat icon in the bar turns pink when receiving a new message. The number in the circle shows you how many new messages there are.
Creating Chats and Conversations
You can open a new chat or conversation by clicking on the chat icon in the menu bar of the global chat. You can read more about the steps you need to go through in this article.
Personal Chat Settings
For the global chat, you can enter a scheduled status message and show or hide a read confirmation and your availability to other users. These options can be accessed by clicking on the gear icon.
If the read receipt is enabled, the receipt is displayed in conversations only after all members have read the message, including those who have disabled the receipt.
If you disable read receipt, no receipt is displayed in conversations even if all members have read the message.
If you are a member of multiple teams within Communications Control, you will see a switcher in the settings above the status message field. This allows you to apply the settings to all teams.
Undocking the Global Chat (Popout)
Clicking on the zoom-in icon in the chat menu bar opens the global chat in a new window and allows you to use it outside of Communications Control.
Installing the Chat Locally
However, the chat can not only be undocked but also saved to your desktop and thus used outside of Communications Control.
To do this, click the download icon in the top right corner of the undocked chat and select the Install option in the popup that opens.
Search Chats and Conversations
To quickly get important information, chats and conversations can be searched. To do so, click on the magnifying glass in the menu bar of the global chat.
A new view opens. After entering a search term, you will see the results sorted by messages, users, or conversations. By clicking on the respective result, you will be directed to the right place in the chat, the conversation, or to the user.
Alternatively, you can close the search by clicking on the magnifying glass.
